I hoped that the game of cricket would flourish with the multiple images it has taken in recent times through 20-20, 50 over, test, bringing in more countries into the cricketing domain and likewise. But over the months we have witnessed some of the hopeless cricketing games. World cup matches have been witnessing embarrassing defeats. Sport is not economics for the game to move away from the west and settle down in the east. It is passion which drives sport. If the fans spending hundreds and thousands witness a hopeless encounter of street cricket, how will they be driven to take up the game. A sachin and dravid saw India lifting the world cup in 1983. The sports titans of today are paving the path for the stars of tomorrow.
But we cannot sit here and blast comments on these players. It would be really unjust on saying that the traffic police is taking bribes if the SP is taking lakhs. If the BCCI president, Mr.Sharad Pawar is taking huge bribes and destroying cricket, what can you say about the players. If the IPL is flooded with corporates fixing matches and players playing for its economic value alone, what is the role of the spectator? Football, olympics, tennis have all grown over the years. But cricket has been pampered during these budding years that it has lost much of its charm.
God save cricket!!!!!

Rise or fall: In whose hands is it?
In the past 10 years we have added several words to our dictionary like "Bangaloored", "BPO" and "KPO". If it had not been for a educated country, we wouldn't be talking about grabbing jobs from US and imagining about entrepreneurial fantasies. Now as wee talk about the new year, we also look back inorder to connect the dots. We can't afford to jump off the graph and start from somewhere new. There are philosophies which have been in place and we have got here by adhering to certain principles. Every corporate guru will tell you that they had certain ideologies for their company. Now at the start of 2011, I see that India can boast of a low average age which will get lower in the years to come. As economies around the world are searching for man-power to replace the ones of the earlier generation, they are bound to look towards India and Indians to manage this deficit. Another great advantage is that India's domestic demand being very high, we need not look at other countries to sell off our produce. So FII's will come packing to India to sell their stuff and competition is sure to create a need for quality standards because the Indian consumer believes in better quality at lower prices. But all is not green ahead for the Indian population. There is a big deficit in the quality and quantity of education. A huge fraction of our population is still illiterate and many of the schools in our country fail to satisfy the minimum standards for a imparting quality education. Although the construction sector may be booming, many people find themselves sleeping in gallis, railway stations and city dumps. We have to remember that as the country becomes more and more open to global parameters, the risks of vulnerability becomes larger. Hence our thinkers and politicians need to take decisions carefully with a high degree of thought considering various dimensions. The UID which will be in place 2 years from now promises a large amount of transparency in central planning. Also we have to understand that the future beckons introduction of internet in every sector and also being careful about the security issues that this will bring.

Bamboozled
The English dictionary describes the meaning of the word bamboozled as to “conceal one's true motives from especially by elaborately feigning good intentions so as to gain an end”. Right from the day I joined this college, I have been trying to learn this art, but unfortunately. I was under the impression that management was all about impressing people to work for you, buy your products which they probably did not want or convince yourself that the end defines the means. Some people may call me a critic. But over the months, I have introspected on these facts and came to a few conclusions which I would like to share with my peers and followers.
